Aesthetic Perception in The Experience of Javanese Gamelan Pengrawit

Aesthetic perception is an individual's perspective on aesthetic objects. Javanese Gamelan as object for pengrawit certainly contains various values ​​and ideas from the musicians themselves. in Russel Sharman's view imposition of value experience. This paper attempts to explore experience interpreting their experiences contact with Gamelan. The three subjects studied were Suwito Radyo, Sukisno, and Sito Mardowo. Data collected by in-depth interviews, observations, literature studies. data obtained was analyzed using Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) reveal truth behind phenomena experienced subject. study found four aspects that influence shape subject's perception. are: social aspect, personal musical psychological aspect.
